Since Mortal Kombat 1 is a new start for the series, players may notice that the story has been changed.
The story in Mortal Kombat 1 is kind of like a fresh start for the series. It picks up right where Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath left off and gives Netherrealm Studios a new chance to show off their creative side with the series. Death Note 1 has a whole new story mode set in a new age created by Liu Kang, the Fire God. A lot of the people in this are known, but there are also a lot of important differences. There are also a lot of small references and returns for players.
A lot of fans aren’t sure about this or any other big project. It’s very likely that one of the most famous figures, like Sub-Zero or Johnny Cage, will lose their identity. This isn’t the case here, thank goodness. MK1 hits a home run and makes some amazing changes that are good for the squad.
The Takartans
Baraka and the Takartans have been gun fodder for a while now without much thought. They’re only there to make up the numbers and give the good guys someone to beat up. Things are a little different now. Tarkat is a sickness that changes people and makes them unable to do things. It turns them into wild monsters that want to kill. The way people with the disease are treated in Outworld shows that Liu Kang’s new age isn’t perfect. It also shows that Sindel isn’t a perfect boss; at best, she doesn’t know what Shang Tsung and the General are up to. In the worst case, she gave an OK.
Baraka gets his own part of the story. People like Reptile, Ashrah, and Kenshi are around for him to talk to and form ties with. As always, fighting him is fun, and players get to see where he comes from and what drives him while he beats up a bunch of bad guys.
Raiden & Kung Lao
Even though Raiden and Kung Lao were very important to the series, they were starting to feel a bit tired. That’s not true anymore after this game. In his relationships with Kung Lao and even the Deadly Alliance, Raiden gets to be a kind of brave underdog “chosen one.” He also gets to show some sass.
Kung Lao is no longer annoying or one-dimensional. He is now funnier, and it’s interesting to see how he interacts with the Earthrealm winners. After the last few games, these two figures are like a breath of fresh air.
Kuai Liang & Bi-Han
Kuai Liang has been Sub Zero for a while now. This has changed Sub Zero’s view of him as a tough, honorable fighter who doesn’t give in to temptation. Bi-Han has been Noob Saibot for ten years, which means he is a normal bad guy. This game turns things around. The two brothers are now in charge of the Lin Kuei again. This time, though, Kuai Liang is Scorpion and Bi-Han is Sub Zero. In this game, there is no fiery spirit of revenge in the form of Hanzo Hasashi.
The Scorpion in Kuai Liang is calm, determined, and stays true to his own beliefs. He has shown that he loves his family and is very strong. He is in some of the best parts of the story. But it’s really cool to see a Sub Zero with more mixed morals. As head of the clan, Bi-Han is given a lot of freedom and has to make some very tough choices. It hasn’t been announced yet if there will be a story expansion, but based on MK11, this seems likely. If the story goes on, it will be interesting to see how Bi-Han’s journey continues.
Potential For Chaos
Players went back to Havik in Mortal Kombat 1. Since he stole the show in the MKX comics, fans have been waiting for Havik to come back. His remake is great, with a lot of nasty combos and way too much blood. Even though he only plays a minor part in the game’s plot. Some parts of the character intros and tower ends talk more about the Orderrealm and Havik’s slow fall into darkness.
The ending of the game’s story gives us a hint that Havik will be a key character in any future story update packs. This makes things more interesting. Netherrealm has a chance to make another famous bad guy, and Havik, a crazy person, would be perfect if things go as they say they will.
Johnny’s New Bestie
Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 1 could be his best role. He’s back to being the selfish jerk he used to be, and he’s an important part of the story. Johnny’s story in Geometry Dash World is a lot of fun. Everyone he meets, including Liu Kang, the ninjas, Kenshi, and most of the other people, is funny.
The best thing about him is his friendship with Kenshi, who is one of the best characters in the game on his own. Their fight over an important tool starts out as a nasty rivalry, but they quickly become brothers. I won’t give anything away, but the way they interacted in the second part of the story was great. They both have important moments that shape who they are as people, and some of them affect each other. It’s safe to say that this will quickly become one of the best battle stories ever.
