Will There Be Any Cricket World Cup in 2022?

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the 2022 Men’s Cricket World Cup will be held in India. This will be the first time that the country has hosted the tournament since it was first held in England in 1975. The ICC made the announcement at its annual conference in London on Wednesday.

India last hosted the tournament in 1987, when it was co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The 2022 edition of the World Cup will feature 10 teams, with two additional teams qualifying through a qualification process. The format for the tournament will be confirmed closer to the date.

India is currently scheduled to host the 2021 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, which was postponed from 2020 due to Covid-19.

The Cricket World Cup is scheduled to take place in India from October to November 2022. This will be the first time that the tournament will be held entirely in India, with the previous editions being held jointly in England and Wales. The format of the tournament will see ten teams playing each other in a round-robin group stage, with the top four teams progressing to the knockout stage.

The final will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 26 November 2022.
