Oneplus 9 Pro: Know the Price, Features and Many More

OnePlus has come a long way since it first came out with the “Flagship Killer.” It has simply dethroned the idea that premium smartphones can be sold at low prices. The OnePlus 9 Pro is a new member of the flagship family, and it has all the features you need to compete in the high-end market.

The price of the OnePlus 9 Pro in India is Rs 64,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and Rs 69,999 for 12GB RAM and 128GB storage. You can get the best mobiles on EMI as well.

Design

The OnePlus 9 Pro doesn’t have an exciting look. The phone still has a premium glass sandwich and looks the same as the last version. The only slight change is that the camera is now in the top left corner instead of the top right. The tall phone has a tapered back that blends seamlessly with the display on the edges. The back of the OnePlus phone is made of shiny, reflective glass, and the antenna bands are built into the metal frame.

Display

Last year’s refresh rate on the OnePlus 8 Pro was 120Hz, which is twice as fast as the standard 60Hz. The 120Hz high refresh rate is also on the OnePlus 9 Pro. The screen has a resolution of QHD+ and works with HDR10+. With a maximum brightness of more than 1000 nits, the screen is bright enough to see in direct sunlight. You get five color profiles to tune-in contrast and saturation. The default settings for Vivid slightly shift toward a more relaxed tone, but the natural profile shows colors as they are.

Benchmarks and Performance

The new flagship gets the same high-end treatment as the previous Pro models from OnePlus. The powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile platform and up to 12GB of RAM are built into the OnePlus 9 Pro. First, let’s talk about the synthetic benchmark tests. The new OnePlus phone got 1123 points on the Geekbench single-core score test and 3665 points on the Geekbench multi-core score test.

On the best loop score card for the 3D Mark stress test, the device got 5752 points, and on the lowest loop score card, it got 3214 points. The OnePlus 9 Pro did well in the multi-core test, but since benchmark results can be changed, we have released the real-world usage report.

Software/UI

With OxygenOS 11, OnePlus changed the way the interface looks. Even though the Chinese brand added a layer of polish, it no longer gives you the same Android experience you get with a stock phone. People who have never used a OnePlus phone before might like the user interface, but those who are upgrading from an older OnePlus phone might find it hard to get used to the changes at first. The new OxygenOS skin, on the other hand, comes with many custom improvements. Starting with customization, you can switch from Roboto to OnePlus Sans, which gives you more space and thinner text.

One cool thing about the new OxygenOS interface is that you can send photos straight from the camera app. Just open the camera app, take a picture, and press and hold the quick view button. It will allow you to share the image on social media, scan it with the Google lens, or save it as a note. The notification shade also makes it easy to quickly change the brightness level. Before, you had to pull down the whole notification shade to get to the brightness toggle bar. Now, it’s right below the icons for quick settings.

Battery

This time, the OnePlus 9 Pro’s 4,500mAh battery is slightly smaller than its older sibling’s. The phone supports fast charging with a wired connection of up to 65W and comes with a separate 50W wireless charger. The phone’s battery lasted 9 hours and 42 minutes in the PC Mark test.

Camera

The OnePlus 9 Pro meets almost all of the requirements for a premium flagship, but the optics is one area where it still sings the same old song. The Chinese brand has yet again reserved the 48-megapixel sensor on the OnePlus 9 Pro’s primary camera slot. But a Sony IMX689 sensor has been replaced with a Sony IMX789 sensor. The phone also has a telephoto lens with 8 megapixels and a depth sensor with 2 megapixels for taking portraits.

OnePlus 9 Pro verdict

There was a time when OnePlus phones were called “Flagship Killers,” but those days are over. To keep its high-end status, the Chinese brand has started charging a lot for its flagship phones, though not as much as Apple. The OnePlus 9 Pro has a high-refresh-rate screen that is the best in its class, powerful hardware, immersive audio quality, and support for super-fast wireless charging. You can also purchase the mobile on EMI.
